The minimum age for entry to this qualification is 16. Key skills are available as Further Education qualifications for candidates aged 16+ and in Schools at Key Stage 4. Information Technology is a compulsory aspect of the Entitlement Component for 16-18 year old Further Education students and of the Modern Apprenticeship schemes. In addition, Key Skills are valuable to all who wish to develop their transferable skills, either for their own personal development goals or to improve their employment and career prospects.
